Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for homeless set

The annual Thanksgiving Dinner, for the homeless, will be on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, from 11 am - 1pm, at the Carolina Coliseum.

Anyone wanting to volunteer, please contact me (donald.kenney@uscmed.sc.edu ), and I will give you the name and number of the person coordinating this event.

They are looking for people to set-up, serve food, bus tables, clean up, make take-out plates, etc., during the day and you can work anywhere from 1-4 hours.

Ccome and help us serve our guests on Thanksgiving Day or volunteer to help others to "host" at various off-site locations

My family & I are "hosting" elderly at the Jenni Lynn Assisted Living Center in West Columbia. I've found this more helpful than being with the many volunteers at the Coliseum.

If you cannot make it that day, you can also "sponsor" a turkey, by making a $10 donation (make check payable to St. Peters church), and drop it off in Student Services, Building #3, on the VA Campus.

Be true to your school & donate blood

With the annual Carolina vs. Clemson game next week and with it being a "short week," the SOM would like to again institute the "Be True to Your School" Week and have everyone wear the undergraduate school colors (t-shirt, sweatshirt, jacket, sweater, etc.) next week, either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

And remember to donate blood during the Carolina/Clemson Blood Drive.

Deadline to enter raffle is extended

After careful consideration of the very busy schedules that come with the wrapping up of the semester, the Health Fair committee has decided to extend the deadline to enter the Raffle.

The drawing will now be held Tuesday, Dec. 2nd. This gives you an extra week to dig for that loose change in your car, sofa, recliner, etc. Remember just $1 enters you for a chance to win.

And laying all the prizes aside — remember, you will be supporting SNMA & the SOM's outreach to the community for our 2009 Annual Health Fair. You can't lose!

Thank you for your participation!
